Starting therapy can feel like a big step. My goal is to make the process feel comfortable, supportive, and clear from the very beginning. Here’s what you can expect when working together.
Your intake session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, trusting space.
During this session, we will:
Talk about what’s bringing you in and what you’d like support with
Review your background, including important life experiences, relationships, and history
Explore your current symptoms, stressors, and strengths
Discuss your goals for therapy
Go over policies, confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have
There’s no pressure to share everything all at once. You can move at your own pace. This session is about understanding your story and helping you feel comfortable.
Ongoing sessions are where we begin to do deeper work together.
In these sessions, you can expect:
A supportive, nonjudgmental space to talk openly
Tools and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, emotions, and life challenges
Exploration of patterns, thoughts, and behaviors
Skill-building using approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and values-based work
Gentle accountability and guidance toward your goals
Each session is tailored to you. Some days may focus on processing, while others may be more skill-based or solution-focused.
Check-ins are shorter sessions designed to provide support when you need a quick touchpoint.
These sessions are ideal for:
Maintaining progress between regular sessions
Brief support during stressful periods
Problem-solving a specific situation
Reinforcing coping skills and strategies
While these sessions are shorter, they still offer meaningful support and connection. They are not intended for deep processing but can be a helpful way to stay grounded and supported.
Therapy is a partnership. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow at your own pace.
If you’re ready to begin or have questions, I invite you to reach out or schedule a consultation. I look forward to supporting you.
